As new signs of Spring emerge, the first of the season’s cow parsley with its delicate ‘lacey’ white flowers unfurl and bend in the breeze. This is the moment I feel Spring has truly arrived and I can immerse myself, body and spirit in nature’s wonder!…Awake the Senses II is the second in a series exploring the beauty of this seasonal moment.

Responding to these natural influences the painting is developed with loose and expressive palette knife strokes, in mindful play between paint and canvas. Layers and texture create depth and vibrancy, as I seek to capture the essence of ‘being there’.

I hope these artworks can bring the sheer goodness and nourishment of Nature’s beauty to the most intimate of interior spaces, or they can be collected to create a ‘collaged’ wall in your home.

Executed with professional oil paints on high quality stretched canvas, with universal primer, and with softwood stretchers. Canvas size is 20 x 20 x 2 cm depth. The image is extended on the sides of the canvas creating a 3-D effect. The canvas is signed on both the front and the back, and there are 2 D-rings attached to each side of the softwood stretchers strung with strong cord so that this work is READY TO HANG to sit flush against the wall, offering a contemporary finish to the artwork.
