The second of a series, A Summer’s Dance II is inspired by my visual memories of being amongst the abundant wild grasses and meadow flowers full of midsummer joy, catching the sunlight as they sway…I watch the movement of the breeze as it dances through the long grasses.

Responding to these natural influences, I apply layers of paint, scribing through with my palette knife to express movement as I seek to capture the essence of ‘being there’ in the moment.

Executed with professional oil paints on high quality stretched canvas, with universal primer, and with softwood stretchers. Canvas size is 20 x 20 x 4.5 cm depth. The image is extended on the sides of the canvas creating a 3-D effect. The canvas is signed on both the front and the back, and there are 2 D-rings attached to each side of the softwood stretchers strung with strong cord so that this work is READY TO HANG to sit flush against the wall, with no need for any further framing, offering a contemporary finish to the artwork.
