One of my BEST SELLING artworks, this is an original ink and watercolour painting inspired by the Cambridge pastime of punting on the River Cam through the heart of historic Cambridge University colleges, passing under bridges, notably the Bridge of Sighs.

Executed on Daler Rowney high quality watercolour paper and using a nib pen dipped in Black Indian Ink, the painting is developed in a loose sketchy style with Winsor and Newton watercolour washes to create depth and vibrancy.

The perfect gift for a Birthday or Christmas! This painting is unique and highly collectable, offering the opportunity to buy original art at an affordable price.

Professionally mounted with soft white mount board ready to fit frame size 10 x 12 inches (25.4 x 30.48 cm). This work is UNFRAMED allowing you to choose your own custom look and save on shipping fees.

Please contact me if you would like to COMMISSION a new painting similar to this one. And, if you would like this painting to be framed I can offer this service to you – please contact me for details.

Customer Reviews

Thank you so much for our most recent purchase, and for the lovely conversation while we made our decision! We are so delighted with our new seascape. It has light and tranquility and takes us into a completely different space - the big open sky and wide expanse of the sea. As with our other paintings, we know it was exactly the right choice for us and we will take great and lasting pleasure from it.

We’ve visited Sue’s beautiful studio fairly regularly when we happened upon our latest piece. We were struck by the composition and it’s eventual completion. Sue spent a lot of time talking about the painting, as well as where we were going to hang it to maximise the light quality - even suggesting we take it home to be sure! Her passion is very apparent and we are delighted to have more than one piece in the family.

Sarah, Cambridge

I’m absolutely thrilled with my new painting from Sue, something I’ve aspired to own for some time and I couldn’t be happier. Sue was a delight, she took time to understand where the painting would hang and provided valuable guidance in helping me select my piece. Visiting her beautiful studio was a particular treat. I can’t wait to add to my collection.

It was lovely to meet you on Saturday and see your beautiful work. “Violet Meadows” has been given pride of place on our lounge wall! Thank you so much for allowing us to see it in our house before finally deciding to buy and for helping us to choose the right picture.

The painting has arrived safely and is every bit as beautiful as I had hoped! Thank you so much. When we decide where to hang it I will send you a photo. We love our new painting!

I have always admired Sue’s style of art. I love the feeling of calm and natural freshness that Sue’s paintings convey and enjoy keeping up-to-date with her new work. We love the vibrancy of our painting and the beautiful way it has been framed, really sets it apart. We will most certainly be adding to our collection very soon.
