Feel the absolute calm of this moment…”Saltmarsh Reflections” is an original oil painting inspired by my visual memories of a crisp cold day gazing over the North Norfolk marshes, creeks and muddy channels weaving their way out to the sea beyond.

Responding to the landscape, there’s a feeling of wide open space, and a stillness that evokes a calming sentiment to savour in this contemplative piece.

Painted in my Cambridge studio, the painting is developed with expressive palette knife strokes, with layers and texture to create depth and vibrancy. Executed with Winsor & Newton professional oil paints on high quality stretched canvas, with universal primer, and with softwood stretchers. Canvas size is 60 x 60 cm with edges of 4.5 cm depth. The image is extended on the sides of the canvas creating a 3-D effect. The canvas is signed on both the front and the back, and there are 2 D-rings attached to each side of the softwood stretchers strung with strong cord so that this work is READY TO HANG to sit flush against the wall, with no need for any further framing, offering a contemporary finish to the artwork.
