Poppies and Wheat II
This artwork is a one-of-a-kind original ink and watercolour painting inspired by high Summer and the glorious scarlet hue of poppies spreading through the fields. Painted in my Cambridge studio, executed on Daler Rowney high quality watercolour paper and using a nib pen dipped in Black Indian Ink, the painting is developed in a loose sketchy style with Winsor and Newton watercolour washes to create depth and vibrancy.
The perfect gift for a Birthday! This painting is unique and highly collectable, offering the opportunity to buy original art at an affordable price.
Image size is 4.65 x 7 inches and professionally mounted with soft white mount board ready to fit frame size 10 x 12 inches. I had been looking for quite some time to find unique, yet affordable art that could be a special gift for my boyfriend as he moved into his first home. I found a piece on Sue’s website that was absolutely perfect but had already sold. I contacted Sue in the hope that we could work something out and she was incredibly helpful from the get-go . With her knowledge and kindness, I have now received the most beautiful commission that I know will be so loved by its new owner! Sue was also so helpful in recommending the painting size, potential framing options, and ensuring it was delivered safely. I couldn’t recommend the whole process more. Thank you so much!
I have always admired Sue’s style of art. I love the feeling of calm and natural freshness that Sue’s paintings convey and enjoy keeping up-to-date with her new work. We love the vibrancy of our painting and the beautiful way it has been framed, really sets it apart. We will most certainly be adding to our collection very soon.
Thank you so much for our most recent purchase, and for the lovely conversation while we made our decision! We are so delighted with our new seascape. It has light and tranquility and takes us into a completely different space - the big open sky and wide expanse of the sea. As with our other paintings, we know it was exactly the right choice for us and we will take great and lasting pleasure from it.
We’ve visited Sue’s beautiful studio fairly regularly when we happened upon our latest piece. We were struck by the composition and it’s eventual completion. Sue spent a lot of time talking about the painting, as well as where we were going to hang it to maximise the light quality - even suggesting we take it home to be sure! Her passion is very apparent and we are delighted to have more than one piece in the family.
I’m absolutely thrilled with my new painting from Sue, something I’ve aspired to own for some time and I couldn’t be happier. Sue was a delight, she took time to understand where the painting would hang and provided valuable guidance in helping me select my piece. Visiting her beautiful studio was a particular treat. I can’t wait to add to my collection.
It was lovely to meet you on Saturday and see your beautiful work. “Violet Meadows” has been given pride of place on our lounge wall! Thank you so much for allowing us to see it in our house before finally deciding to buy and for helping us to choose the right picture.
The painting has arrived safely and is every bit as beautiful as I had hoped! Thank you so much. When we decide where to hang it I will send you a photo. We love our new painting!
You can easily order these beautiful gifts on Sue's website, and she takes great care with dispatching all her products - wrapping them beautifully, should you wish to send them directly to someone special for Christmas!
