DESCRIPTION:Learn how to ‘Create a Meadow’ painting with Sue Rapley. \nI couldn’t be more thrilled to invite you to join me at my ‘signature’ workshop\, where I share with you my love of oil painting and my creative process. \nIdeal for absolute beginners\, as well as those with some painting experience\, I will guide you through an easy step by-step process. This half-day workshop offers you the opportunity to explore using oil paints and a palette knife to create your own beautiful meadow-inspired artwork\, and to learn the techniques required to continue your art journey at home. \nPrior to the workshop a PARTICIPANT PACK is sent out you via email\, which contains full details and timeline of the half-day event. And\, on arrival to the workshop you will receive your PAINTING KIT which includes a complete set of painting materials for your personal use\, and to take home. \nWhat will you learn with me? \n\nUnderstand the colour wheel and the basics of colour mixing.\nAppreciate the beauty of using water-mixable oil paints and their buttery texture.\nLearn about the environmental benefits of using water-mixable oil paints\, with no need to use solvents\, only soapy water to clean painting tools.\nApply techniques and explore movement to create the base layers of a painting\, which is known as an ‘under-painting’.\nLearn how to use a palette knife to apply the paint in layers to create depth and texture.\nComplete a collaborative piece of artwork which is supplied prepared for you in your Participant Pack.\nTake away new skills and materials to create your own artworks in your own time\, that I hope you will feel proud enough to frame.\nKeep your complete set of water-mixable oil paints\, palette knife\, and my preferred list of suppliers of where to order more materials\, so you can continue your own art journey at home.\n\nWhat is included in the workshop? \nNew for 2023\, the ‘Create a Meadow’ Painting Workshop will be hosted by me at my Cambridge Studio.
